Saitama Prefecture's Kinchakuda Park is well-known for its stunning displays of spider lilies, but another flower comes into bloom here around the same time. From late September to mid-October, pink and purple cosmos burst into color in the center of the park. The site is a wonderful place to enjoy a picnic or savor a sweet on the open veranda of the nearby organic Alishan Cafe. There is no fee to view the cosmos themselves but there is a small fee for those who avail themselves of the on-site parking.
