It's time to smell the flowers. The cherry blossoms have come and gone, but Kumamoto Prefecture in May is a wonderful place to be. Dance between lilies and irises and see green wheat and rice fields come to life. With Mount Shirahata in the background and several streams flowing in between, this is a place to see nature's theater play its course throughout the seasons of life. If you want to go back in time, the nearby Mifunemachi Dinosaur Museum is a great place for explorers of all ages.

So kerei! Just wondering what camera did you take these snaps on?
I used the smartphone (iphone) but usually I also have a Canon SX 710 Power Shot
Kumamoto is definitely one of the most beautiful parts of Japan, besides being relaxed and peaceful. Make the most of the sunshine and the wonderful scenery!

Kumamoto seems particularly beautiful right now! So many flowers in bloom. I love mid-spring.
