Kosoku-ji Temple has a beautiful 200-year-old crabapple tree. It blooms at almost the same time as cherry blossoms in Kamakura. Although a few crabapple trees grow here, the one in front of the main building is the most beautiful. In fact, it's stunning. The branches open widely and are held up by bamboo supports. Looking up at the flowers from under the tree, its pink petals look beautiful against the blue sky. A combination tour of Daibutsu, Hase-dera Temple and Kosoku-ji Temple, all in the same neighborhood, is recommended.
