There are many old shopping streets all over Japan, and Shintencho, located right out the west exit of Tenjin Station, is one of them. Not so big with 100 shops, it's still lively with loads of people passing though every day. There are all types of products for sale here in umbrella shops, Japanese restaurants, specialty goods, and more. It's not only an important place for locals, but also an interesting experience of a Japanese shopping arcade. Be sure to check out the Japanese gift shop at the southeast corner.
